Induja holds a Computer Science and Biology joint degree from the University of Waterloo. She has been captivated by applied scientific software since achieving a state-of-the-art result in single-cell classification in the course of a 60-minute internship interview.

She has interned at prominent AI-for-target-discovery companies Deep Genomics and Gordian Biotechnology, developed bioterrorism rapid detection software for the BC CDC with BugSeq Bioinformatics, and was a Senior Bioinformatician developing algorithms and analyzing children's brain tumors at SickKids hospital.

Her first-authored metagenomics algorithm, BugSplit, is now incorporated into the official software platform for the Nanopore long read sequencing machine.
